Sunday School at St Aidan’s
During our relaxed and thoughtful service at 9.30 am on Sunday morning, we offer a Sunday School each week for children in which we:
Help them to discover just how much they are loved by God
Share and explore Bible stories together that teach us so much about life
Learn to pray to God in ways that help us to care for others and the whole of creation
Have fun together and enjoy using our imagination
Build a strong foundation of faith and sense of belonging that will be a support in the years to come
What age group is Sunday School for?
Sunday School at St Aidan’s is aimed at children between the ages of 3-11
Younger children are welcome to join us but we suggest that they are accompanied by an adult until they feel comfortable on their own
Older children are also welcome. If there are sufficient older children, then they may have their own discussion group at the same time. Otherwise older children are welcome to help and encourage some of the younger children and share in the activities designed for them.
What happens on a Sunday morning?
The service at St Aidan’s starts at 9.30 am
Children meet together with their families in the Church
During the first hymn the children leave and move to the Community Room which is adjacent to the church
Sunday school lasts for approx. 35-40 minutes
Children come back into Church to join their families just before the communion part of the service begins
Children are welcome to receive a blessing as part of the communion
After the service, just after 10.30 am, there is time for coffee and chat and juice and biscuits
There is a children’s corner in the church with resources for children who would prefer to stay in church.
